Scottish golfing Hotdog

I wasn't aware of the handicap limitation at the old course.  They always comment on American TV about its public status.  -1 in golf is about equal to IM in chess, so it really isn't that public!  Too bad, as I've never got close to a single digit handicap, never mind negative numbers.  At +16, if I practiced some we might have a good game.  When I played a lot, I got down to an +11 or +12, but now I only play once or twice a year, and lose a lot of shots to a rusty short game.   This year I haven't played at all but will bring clubs on my winter vacation.

Woodpusher, actually the the maximum handicap for the Old course is 24 for men and 36 for ladies. A current official handicap card or certificate must be shown to the starter before play. www.standrews.org.uk

i think woodpusher was just wanting to know if we would have a game haha. And i have been down to st andrews and have been told you need to be par or under to play the course. Im not sure about that site but i have been there and been told that. like i say woodpusher we could always play the other ones as long as im in scotland playing golf its all good. :-) plus Donald Trump is just away to build the worlds best course in my hometown Aberdeen. so we will have the best course in the world in a few years on my doorstep.

That's the official line, 24 for men a 36 for ladies, might be different for juniors (?). All golf is good, unless you are having a bad round!!

Last time I played Golf I was just a kid in my fifties.   I wasn't very good, played off 24.   Another hobby of mine was Table-tennis and played in a league 'til I was 80.   I love to play pool too.   I play guitar and sing occasionally in charity concerts.   I guess chess can be counted as a hobby now although I'm pretty green.
