I have immense respect for players of all strengths. Those just trying to enjoy the game and not worried about ratings...those frantically trying to improve...and those looking down from the heights of Olympus. If I'm anything, I suppose I'm a positional player who enjoys the poetry of a beautiful move. I'm also woefully inconsistent. But a love of the game matters much more to me than a struggle to improve my ratings. If I learn well, the ratings will come in time. And if I don't, then I deserve a good kick up the ass.
